Property managers in Chifley, ACT
We’ve leased homes in Chifley 21 times on record.
Chifley sits on the western side of Woden Valley in the ACT, between Phillip and the slopes of Mount Taylor, so the Woden town centre is right next door. Its rental homes include houses, townhouses and some apartments. Distinct Properties manages rental homes in Chifley, and as a local property manager we handle leasing, inspections, maintenance and reporting for owners. Distinct Properties has arranged at least 21 leases in Chifley, 19 of them since January 2020, when its records became complete.
Named after Prime Minister Joseph Chifley, this Woden Valley suburb was gazetted in 1966, with streets that honour scientists and educationalists. Hindmarsh Drive and Melrose Drive form two of its edges, with Lyons to the north, Pearce to the south and Phillip to the east. A local shopping centre on Eggleston Crescent looks out over the Chifley Neighbourhood Oval, and Waldock Street leads into Mount Taylor Nature Reserve, where picnic tables mark one of the ways up to the summit.
Chifley was first built with a mix of houses and flats, and today Distinct Properties leases freestanding houses, townhouses and some apartments here. Original houses can need updated kitchens, bathrooms or heating as they age, while townhouses and apartments bring owners corporation levies and rules into the picture. Whatever the type, a home that is clean, well lit and in good repair tends to photograph better and draw better applications.
The Woden town centre in neighbouring Phillip, with Westfield Woden, the Woden Interchange and the CIT Woden campus, is close by, route 62 loops through Chifley to the interchange, and Mount Taylor's walking tracks begin at the edge of the suburb.

Chifley questions
How close is Chifley to the Woden town centre?
Very close. Chifley shares its eastern boundary with Phillip, which holds the Woden town centre, Westfield Woden and the Woden Interchange. Route 62 links Chifley with the interchange, where Rapid services continue to the City, Belconnen and Tuggeranong. For a tenant, that puts shopping, offices and onward buses within easy reach, and we make the most of it in the listing.
Should I renovate an older Chifley kitchen or bathroom before leasing?
Not always. A full renovation is a big outlay, and smaller jobs such as new tapware, cabinet doors, lighting, paint or a deep clean can lift how a room presents. We walk through the home with you, point out what applicants are likely to spot and what genuinely needs repair, and leave the spending decision with you.
Rentals in Chifley run under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (ACT). Our landlord FAQs cover bonds, notice and rent increases. This is general information about ACT tenancy law and real estate agent conduct from Distinct Property Management, a licensed ACT real estate agency, not legal advice. Rules differ in NSW and other states. For a dispute, contact the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) or a Canberra tenancy advocate.
